MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 16, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Shymske. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, <br />Special Assistant to the Mayor and guests. <br />Absent: None. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:01 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of April 2, 2024 and the Special Council Meeting Minutes of April 9, 2024, <br />were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On first reading, Resolution 2024- <br />36. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor Jones reported the second Mayor's Economic Development Summit will be held on <br />Thursday, April 181h, from 11:30 a.m. —1:00 p.m. at the Springvale Ballroom in partnership with <br />the North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce. All members of Council were invited to attend, with <br />tickets available for purchase through the Chamber website, by calling their office or the <br />Mayors office. <br />• The Dover Players will present a new comedy tilted "Monkeying Around the Truth" the last <br />weekend in April, and first weekend in May at the Community Cabin, tickets are $5. The <br />comedy is rumored to be about politics. <br />• The North Olmsted Community Council's Citizen of the year banquet will take place on <br />Thursday, April 25th at 6:00 p.m. at the Springvale Ballroom. <br />• The Mayor will plant a tree in observance of Arbor Day on Friday, April 260. <br />• NOPEC announced lower electric and natural gas standard program prices from May through <br />October of this year. <br />• The Recreation Department will host the popular "Touch a Truck" event on Friday, lune 14th, <br />from 11:00 a.m. — 2:00 p.m. <br />• A free produce distribution program sponsored by North Olmsted PTAs will take place on <br />Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Maple Elementary School. <br />• A Clergy Appreciation National Day of Prayer Breakfast will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, <br />May 2"d, at Old Town Hall, with City Council Members welcome to attend. <br />
