verbal communication with the supervisor is appropriate and mayjustify waiving advance <br />notification. <br />(d) Scheduline/Less than Full Day Use. Bargaining unit employees shall use vacation leave <br />in hourly increments in <br />�^' 15.05 Vacation Payout at Separation If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or <br />involuntarily) prior to taking his/her vacation and has completed one (1) year of employment with <br />the Employer, he/she shall receive the prorated portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the <br />time of separation. In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation leave shall be paid to the <br />estate. <br />15.06 Lateral Transfers. Employees hired by the City may be credited with vacation service <br />credit in addition to City time based upon the schedule and receive credit for any accepted priar <br />years ofservice, including but not limited date of transfer to the City. This provision for Laterals <br />Transfers shall effect Vacation only and shall not alter the date of hire or seniority of said <br />employees relative to any other benefits or preferences. <br />ARTICLE 16 HOLIDAYS <br />16.01 Desienated Holidays/Holiday Pay. All regular full-time employees shall be entitled to <br />eight (8) hours of pay (Le. holiday pay) for each of the following paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day Memorial Day Friday after Thanksgiving <br />Martin Luther Juneteenth <br />King, Jr. Day Independence Day Christmas Eve Day <br />President's Day Labor Day Christmas Day <br />Qft"Olf� Thanksgiving Day New Year's Eve Day <br />46=.04 16.02 Holidays Observed Holidays are generally observed on the date of the actual <br />holiday. If any of the above holidays fall on a Saturday or a Sunday, either the previous Friday <br />or the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. With the approval of the Employer, <br />employees may flex any of <br />the holidays, which falls on a Saturday or Sunday, -`-= ---------'- ' ° 0i -'--- - but in doing <br />so, the employee would not be entitled to premium pay for work on the actual holiday under <br />16.03. *4 ------ -' -"`-'- sup en,issf. To "flex" a holiday means to schedule a day off for that <br />holiday on a date other than the official date of that holiday.
