MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 7, 2024 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Limpert, <br />Madden, Scarl and Shymske_ <br />Also Present: Mayor Dailey Jones, Law Director, Finance Director, Human Resource Director, <br />Economic and Community Development Director, Recreation and Public <br />Engagement Director, Safety Director, Service Director and guests. <br />Absent: None. <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of April 16, 2024 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Resolution <br />2024-37 and Ordinance 2024-39; and on first reading, Resolution 2024-47. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• The Mayor hosted the second annual Community Prayer and Clergy Appreciation Breakfast on <br />May 2n", at Old Town Hall. The event celebrated 2024 National Day of Prayer. At the event, <br />Pastors Adam Falkenstein and Rich Bennett were administered their oath of affirmation as the <br />first volunteer leaders of the City's new Chaplaincy program for members of our safety forces. <br />• The North Olmsted Arts Commission and various city departments will be participating in a <br />Community Resource Fair on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Northern <br />Mall; in partnership with the mall and the North Olmsted branch of the Cuyahoga County Public <br />Library. The event is free and open to the public. <br />• Mayor Jones reported the North Olmsted Garden Club will host their annual spring plant sale <br />from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, May 11`", at the Corner of Lorain and Porter Roads. Bedding <br />flats, vegetables and herbs can be purchased at Dean's Nursery, 3984 Porter Road in Westlake, <br />as part of their fundraiser as well. <br />• The Department of Recreation and Public Engagement will host the City's 2024 Annual Ice Show <br />from May 17" through 191h at the Recreation Center. The theme of this years show is <br />"Roadtrip." Tickets are available by calling 440-734-8200, and the performances are on Friday, <br />May 1711 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 18" at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May W. <br />
