The remaining vacation time can be taken as needed by the employee, for example, one (1) <br />or two (2) days at a time. An employee will give the supervisor at least forty-eight (48) <br />hours advance notice in writing. In an emergency situation, verbal communication with <br />the supervisor is appropriate and may justify waiving advance notification. <br />1208. Lateral Transfers. Effective September 11, 2022, employees hired by the City pursuant <br />to Lateral Transfer Eligible Lists authorized by the North Olmsted Civil Service Commission <br />shall be entitled to vacation with pay based upon the schedule and lkeir-reePeetere receive credit <br />for any accepted prior years of service, including but not limited to date of transfer to the City, <br />as set forth in Section 1201. This provision for Laterals Transfers shall effect Vacation only <br />and shall not alter the date of hire or seniority of said employees relative to any other benefits <br />or preferences, particularly with respect to scheduling of Holidays, Vacations, or other time <br />off to be determined by the Chief of Police. <br />ARTICLE pfd 13 <br />PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br />11-61.13.01. Initial Hire. The probationary period for all new employees shall continue for twelve <br />(12) months after the employee(s) successfully completes the Employer's Police Department's <br />Field Training Program. During this probationary period, the employee shall have no rights to <br />appeal any form of disciplinary action, including termination through the Grievance Procedure or <br />to any Civil Service Commission. <br />11.02 13.02. Resignation During Probation/Traininr Cost Reimbursement. Should an <br />employee voluntarily resign during their probationary period, and the City of North Olmsted paid <br />for their OPTA training, the employee is responsible to reimburse the City the full training cost. <br />The Employer may deduct said cost from the employee's final settlement check. <br />13.03. Promotions. The probationaryperiod for all newly promoted employees shall be six (6) <br />months following appointment. In the event that an employee is demoted during the <br />probationaryperiod, the Employer shall be required to set forth the basis for its decision. Any <br />removal shall be subject to review through the grievance procedure. <br />ARTICLE 4H 14 <br />HEALT H/ANCILLARY INSURANCE <br />W.0; 14.01. Medical Coverare. The Employer shall provide, pursuant to Appendix A (as <br />updated from year to year to reflect plan offerings), single, family, employee and spouse, <br />employee and child/children, medical insurance coverage at the employee's option for each full- <br />time employee. ,96 The Employer reserves the right to establish all plans, enrollment periods <br />and regulations.
