park improvements will forever damage what is and should remain a nature park, not a
place where any commercial enterprise can do what they want to make their salesmen
happy and increase their own revenues at our expense. Visitors to the park and residents in
the 53 homes facing the park will no doubt suffer the consequences.
Finally, while I was initially grateful for the opportunity to speak to council at these
meetings, I have grown increasingly disillusioned. I had hopes that what residents brought
to your attention would be honestly considered and addressed. After all, effective city
council members are to represent the citizens who elected them. Instead, to me, you seem
defensive, putting your efforts into discounting or ignoring our input. Perhaps it's this
administration. Perhaps that's how it has always been. I hope in future you would find a
way to pay attention to the people who put you in office, who pay your salaries, and who
both benefit from, and suffer the consequences of your decisions. Thank you.
LEGISLATION
Council President Brossard:
Seeing no other comments from the audience, we will now move into legislation.
Council Clerk:
Legislation on second reading:
Ordinance 2024-67, introduced by Mayor Jones.
