Council President Brossard:
That motion passes by a vote of 7-0. If there is anyone in the audience who wishes to
address Council regarding Ordinance 2024-67, please approach the podium now.
Jeff Sturgeon:
Is there going to be any more public meeting regarding this ordinance?
Councilman Limpert:
We'll be extending this, another moratorium. The only way it would is if we were to review
extending it again.
Jeff Sturgeon:
Okay. Not for extending it as far as the final breakdown of it? Is there going to be, you know,
what's going to happen with this ordinance?
Councilman Glassburn:
I think Madam Mayor could probably answer better.
Mayor Jones:
Thank you to the Council. So, what will happen is we're still working with Council on coming
up with the final legislation that will come before them for them to consider. So, there is
plenty of opportunity if you, or other residents want to weigh in on this to contact us,
contact your council member, and let them know how you feel about it. This is the reason
we requested for additional time for the moratorium so that we could continue working
with Council and craft a piece of legislation that will eventually then be set before them so
that they can consider and vote on it.
Jeff Sturgeon:
Okay. Do you expect this to be finalized in the next three, four, five months?
Mayor Jones:
To the Council President, yes, we do. We expect probably within the next two months to
have legislation before Council.
Jeff Sturgeon:
Perfect. Thank you.
Mayor Jones:
Thank you.
Councilman Limpert:
Seeing no other further public inquiry, I would like to make a motion to adopt Ordinance
2024-67 and ask for a second.
Councilman Glassburn:
Second.
08-06-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 11
