Councilman Scarl:
No report, Mr. President. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilwoman Gilchrist, Chairwoman of the Streets and Transportation
Committee, do you have a report this evening?
Councilwoman Gilchrist:
Yes, Mr. President, I do have a report. The Streets and Transportation Committee met on
Tuesday, June 25th, at 8:02 p.m. Committee members Gilchrist, Glassburn, and Shymske
were present, along with Councilmembers Hemann, Madden, Limpert, and Scarl, the Mayor,
the Law Director, the Finance Director, the HR Director, the Economic Director, the Safety
Director, the Service Director, the Recreation Director, and guests.
• The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Resolution 2024-72, a Resolution
authorizing the Mayor to make an application on behalf of the City of North Olmsted
to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission's state capital improvement
and/ or local transportation improvement programs, further authorizing the Mayor
to accept funds, if awarded, and to execute a contract as required and declaring an
emergency. Mayor Jones explained that this will essentially give the City the ability
to apply for funding for the resurfacing of Lorain Road. The Lorain Road resurfacing
project will be run by ODOT, and since it is such a large project, the State will break it
up into sections for resurfacing over the next few years. Resolution 2024-72 was
favorably recommended to Council by a vote of 3-0. The meeting concluded at 8:04
p.m., and that concludes my report, Mr. President. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilman Madden, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee,
do you have a report this evening?
Councilman Madden:
No report, Mr. President. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. And Councilman Shymske, Chairman of the Environmental Control Committee,
do you have a report this evening?
Councilman Shymske:
No report, Mr. President. Thank you.
COMMUNICATIONS
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Are there any letters or communications to come before Council at this time?
Council Clerk:
No, Mr. President.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
Council President Brossard:
08-06-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 8
