Council Clerk:
Mr. Scarl: Yes
Mr. Madden: Yes
Mr. Shymske: Yes
Ms. Gilchrist: Yes
Mr. Limpert: Yes
Mr. Glassburn: Yes, with comment. Not every problem can be solved overnight. Not every
problem gets solved the way we'd like the first time we try. The persistence of this Council,
the persistence of this Administration to continue working on this issue, to get it right, that
we have a unionized force that is qualified here in North Olmsted, that improves our safety,
improves our equipment, and is fiscally sound, while also enhancing the quality of the
mutual aid we can expect. This is a win-win for everyone, and I thank everybody for
continuing to work on this.
Council President Brossard
Resolution 2024-85 is adopted by a vote of 6-0.
Council Clerk:
Resolution 2024-86 introduced by Mayor Jones, a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter
into a three-year contract with the City of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, for the purpose of the City of
North Olmsted providing the City of Olmsted Falls with police and fire dispatching service
and declaring an emergency.
Councilman Scarl:
Mr. President. At this time, I move to suspend the rule requiring three readings for
Resolution 202486. As with the Township contract, it is important to execute the dispatch
center contract with Olmsted Falls as soon as possible, and ask for a second.
Councilman Madden: Second
Council President Brossard:
Motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings for Resolution 2024-86 is made by
Councilman Scarl, seconded by Councilman Madden. Roll call, please.
Council Clerk:
Mr. Scarl: Yes
Mr. Madden: Yes
Mr. Glassburn: Yes
Mr. Shymske: Yes
Ms. Gilchrist: Yes
Mr. Limpert: Yes
Council President Brossard:
That motion passes by a vote of 6-0. If there is anyone in the audience who wishes to
address council regarding Resolution 2024-86, please approach the podium now.
Councilman Scarl:
Seeing none, Mr. President, I move to adopt Resolution 2024-86 and ask for a second.
08-20-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 18
