CORRIDOR CHARACTER / IDENTITY <br />The community has identified character <br />improvements along the corridor as a priority. To <br />convey a consistent identity the following package <br />of improvements should be utilized on all public <br />property along the corridor and private property as <br />desired <br />• Branded gateway and wayfinding signage <br />• Raised planters <br />• Hanging planters <br />• Benches <br />• Trash receptacles <br />• Bike racks <br />Through interactive activities during the process, <br />a preference for a classic / timeless language for <br />streetscape elements was identified. <br />Public art is another important element for building <br />a unique community identity. North Olmsted is <br />STREETSCAPE ELEMENTS PACKAGE <br />fortunate to be a home to a wide mix of cultures, <br />and these cultures should be celebrated through <br />the community's public art. Opportunities and <br />locations for incorporating public art along the <br />corridor include the following. <br />Artistic crosswalks at side streets (this detail is <br />not currently allowed on state routes) <br />Murals on blank building facades <br />Artist -designed fencing for landscape <br />screening areas <br />Gateway sculptures <br />Artist -designed planters <br />Banners <br />Unique elements for transit waiting <br />environments <br />The community's 1% for the Arts pilot program can <br />be paired with larger -scale infrastructure projects <br />to fund impactful arts initiatives. <br />LORAIN ROAD CORRIDOR STUDY <br />
