Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: Councilwoman Hemann, Vice Chair of Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Committee, do you have a report this evening? Councilwoman Hemann: I do, thank you. The Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 7:12 p.m. Present were Committee Members Scarl, Hemann, and Madden, Council members Limpert, Glassburn, Gilchrist, and Shymske, Council President Brossard, the Mayor, and the Directors of Law, Finance, Human Resource, Economic Development, Safety, Service, and Recreation. • The Committee discussed Resolution 2024-93. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions to purchase twenty-six (26) Kenwood Mobile Radios, for deployment by the North Olmsted Division of Police, at a cost of $114,641.02 through the State Purchase Program, and declaring an emergency. Director Scofield explained that this is a budgeted item for police this year and that this is the second half of radios to be purchased, as the first half was purchased last year. Director Scofield added that the Kenwood radios that we currently have are outdated and can't be upgraded to the new MARCS radio system. The legislation was favorably recommended to Council by a vote of 3-0. • Next on the agenda was Ordinance 2024-94, an Ordinance repealing Chapter 735 entitled Food Trucks, and enacting new Chapter 735 entitled Mobile Food Services of the Business Regulation Code of the City of North Olmsted. The Law Director asked to hold this piece of legislation in Committee as further research is needed before discussion at Committee. The legislation was held in Committee by a vote of 3-0 and the Committee meeting concluded at 7:16 p.m. Thank you. Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: Thank you. Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: Councilman Shymske, Chair of the Environmental Control Committee, do you have a report this evening? Councilman Shymske: Yes, I do, Mr. President Pro Tem. The Environmental Control Committee met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Caucus room.
