Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: <br />Councilwoman Hemann, Vice Chair of Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Committee, do you <br />have a report this evening? <br />Councilwoman Hemann: <br />I do, thank you. <br />The Public Safety, Health, and Welfare Committee met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at <br />7:12 p.m. Present were Committee Members Scarl, Hemann, and Madden, Council <br />members Limpert, Glassburn, Gilchrist, and Shymske, Council President Brossard, the <br />Mayor, and the Directors of Law, Finance, Human Resource, Economic Development, Safety, <br />Service, and Recreation. <br />• The Committee discussed Resolution 2024-93. A Resolution authorizing the Mayor <br />to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions to purchase twenty-six (26) <br />Kenwood Mobile Radios, for deployment by the North Olmsted Division of Police, at <br />a cost of $114,641.02 through the State Purchase Program, and declaring an <br />emergency. Director Scofield explained that this is a budgeted item for police this <br />year and that this is the second half of radios to be purchased, as the first half was <br />purchased last year. Director Scofield added that the Kenwood radios that we <br />currently have are outdated and can't be upgraded to the new MARCS radio system. <br />The legislation was favorably recommended to Council by a vote of 3-0. <br />• Next on the agenda was Ordinance 2024-94, an Ordinance repealing Chapter 735 <br />entitled Food Trucks, and enacting new Chapter 735 entitled Mobile Food Services of <br />the Business Regulation Code of the City of North Olmsted. The Law Director asked <br />to hold this piece of legislation in Committee as further research is needed before <br />discussion at Committee. The legislation was held in Committee by a vote of 3-0 and <br />the Committee meeting concluded at 7:16 p.m. Thank you. <br />Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: <br />Thank you. Councilwoman Gilchrist, Chairwoman of the Streets and Transportation <br />Committee, do you have a report this evening? <br />Councilwoman Gilchrist: <br />I do not have a report, Mr. President Pro Tem. Thank you. <br />Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: <br />Councilman Madden, Chairman of the Inter- Governmental Relations Committee, do you <br />have a report this evening? <br />Councilman Madden: <br />No report, thank you. <br />Council President Pro Tempore Glassburn: <br />Councilman Shymske, Chair of the Environmental Control Committee, do you have a report <br />this evening? <br />Councilman Shymske: <br />Yes, I do, Mr. President Pro Tem. <br />The Environmental Control Committee met on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in <br />the Caucus room.
