A minimum of two (2) employees will be designated as <br />training dispatchers. These designated training dispatchers shall only be compensated for any year <br />for which they were actually designated training dispatchers and training is required. The <br />aforementioned payment shall be made during the first pay period of January, each year of this <br />Agreement for previous year service as a designated training dispatcher. During the term of the parties agreement, <br />the Employer may establish Lead Dispatcher positions) for the purpose ofproviding additional <br />oversight of dispatching shifts. The Employer will post opportunities for members to apply to <br />serve in a Lead Dispatcher capacity as it determines such become available, and members may <br />then apply in accordance with the job posting. Such posting shall indicate whether the position <br />is an internal opportunity only or if the position includes external candidates. For internal <br />postings, the Employer will evaluate all qualified internal applicants and award the position to <br />the applicant whom it determines to be most qualified. If it determines two internal applicants <br />to be equally qualified, the most senior applicant shall be awarded the position. For open <br />processes, if the Employer determines an internal and external candidate to be equally qualified, <br />the internal candidate will be given preference. The Employer will determine how many Lead <br />Dispatcher assignments are available at any given time and may increase or decrease the <br />number of Lead Dispatcher spots based on its determination of its operational needs.
