Article 11, Probationary Period
The parties agreed to add a new Section 2 that addresses if the Employer creates a Lead Dispatcher
position and fills it. If this occurs, the bargaining unit member selected for the position is required
to complete a six (6) month probationary period. During that period the employee may be demoted
and returned to their prior position without the action being subject to the grievance procedure.
Article 12, Layoff and Recall
The partes agreed to language that says whenever the Employer determines a layoff is necessary
due to lack of fonds, lack of work, or that a reorganization in the operations of the Employer is
necessary, a reduction in force shall occur.
The parties agreed to language that says the Employer will determine in which classifications/ranks
a reduction is to be made, and within that affected classification/rank, the least senior in that rank
will be the fust laid off.
The parties agreed to add preemption language that supersedes ORC, OAC, and the City's Civil
Service Commission's provisions relating to work force reductions.
Article 13. Bulletin Boards
The parties agreed to delete the previous Section 1.
The parties created a new Section 2 that sets limitations and requirements for materials posted to
the bulletin board,
Article 14, Duty Hours
The parties added twelve (12) hour shifts into the Section 1 Workday/Workweek language.
The parties added language to Section 2 Meal Period that explains how meal periods work for
twelve (12) hour shifts.
Under Section 3, the parties agreed to delete the language that said, "the Employer will do
everything reasonably possible including but not limited to offering overtime to see that the
employee will get the off that is picked."
The parties added a sentence that states, "where an employee has put in for time off at least five
(5) days in advance of the date sought and where the coverage to receive the day off has been
verified later, such time off will not be cancelled after being approved."
Article 7 Overtime/Extra Duty/Call Out
The parties removed sick leave from the overtime calculation.
In Section 3, the parties agreed to language that says when a court appearance is made virtually
without reporting to the station, a minimum of one (1) hour shall be paid at the applicable rate.
0891-9123-8183, v.2
