Line of duty damage shall be reported immediately to the Chief of Police. On approval of the <br />Chief of Police, the above -noted payment shall be forwarded to the employee, absent or after any <br />other form of reimbursement and upon receipt of replacement of said items. <br />13 03 15.05. Body Armor. The Employer agrees to provide and pay for all employees' body <br />armor, a minimum threat level NIJHG2. The Employer agrees to replace body armor at such time <br />as the vests are no longer serviceable as provided in the manufacturer's specifications. In the event <br />the body armor is rendered unserviceable due to misuse or neglect by the employee, replacement <br />shall be the responsibility of the employee. The Employer will pay up to one thousand two six <br />hundred dollars ($1,200.00 $1,600.00) for the cost of such vest. <br />ARTICLE NEW 16 <br />SICK LEAVE <br />}4,9} 16.01. Accumulation. Sick leave shall be accumulated at the rate of four and six -tenths <br />(4.6) hours for every eighty (80) hours paid, excluding overtime and may accumulate such sick <br />leave to an unlimited amount. <br />16.02. Uses of Sick Leave. <br />A. Sick leave shall be granted to an employee jot the following reasons. <br />L Bin ess or injury of the employee or a member of his immediate family. <br />2 Medical, dental, or optical examinations or treatment of an employee or a <br />member of his immediatefamily, which requires the employee, and which <br />cannot be scheduled during non -working hours. <br />3. If a member of the immediate family is afflicted with a contagious disease <br />or requires the care and attendance of the employee, or when through <br />exposure to a contagious disease the presence of the employee at his job <br />would jeopardize the health of others. <br />4. Pregnancy and/or childbirth andotherconditions relatedthereto inclusive <br />ofleavefor male employees for the care of the employee's wife and family <br />during the postnatal period <br />An employee reporting offsick for the above reasons will be considered approved <br />provisionallysubject to final review and approval by the Employer. <br />4-0$S 16.03. Documentadon/Evidence Required for Sick Leave Use. If an employee is <br />absent on sick leave for more than three (3) consecutive work days, the Employer shall require the <br />employee to present a physician's report attesting to the employee's incapacity and that the <br />employee was under the doctor's care and is able to return to work. The Employer will review the <br />attendance records of employees periodically and at least once in each three (3) month period. If <br />it believes that an employee is developing an attendance problem, it will notify the employee in <br />writing that a physician's report attesting to the employee's incapacity will be required for <br />14 <br />4963-57739656. v.5 <br />
