Moving into reports, Mayor Dailey Jones, do you have a report this evening?
REPORTS
Mayor Jones:
I do. Thank you, Mr. President.
• Last Friday morning, November 15th, I had the privilege of turning over the first shovel
full of dirt on developer George Davis' Kingston Townhomes projects, which are located
on Brookpark and Grace Roads. The project will feature 68 townhome rental units,
which will be completed by the end of the first quarter in 2026. The project represents a
significant investment in new housing, and is the largest project of its type in the past
decade in North Olmsted. As a city, we are 95% built out in terms of developable land,
that's why it's important that what is left is developed in a way that maximizes the
potential of the property. These townhomes will help us attract young professionals and
empty nesters alike, that enjoy the convenience of the connectivity to the region that
our City offers, as well as all of the amenities that make North Olmsted a sought-after
place to live.
• I invite all of Council to join me this Thursday to cut the ribbon at Roll House located at
24488 Lorain Road at 5:30 p.m. This Grand Reopening of Roll House will be from 5:30
until 7:30 p.m., so I invite you all to be there at 5:30 p.m. for the ribbon cutting, and to
stay for a fun night. So this ribbon cutting is to now have their outdoor patio area,
incorporated with all of the wonderful things that that establishment has been updating
over the past two years.
• Everyone is also invited then, that same night, to come to Springvale Ballroom from 6 to
9 p.m. for a pre -Thanksgiving holiday dance. Tickets are still available online at
northolmsted.com, or at the North Olmsted Senior Center. The cost of a ticket is $10.
There will be finger foods and beverages and music.
• Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 8th from 2 to 5 p.m. Also at Springvale, the
City's Department of Recreation and Public Engagement will present its annual Holiday
Hangout, and there will be plenty of fun family activities, including holiday games,
crafts, music, food, and you heard it here first, a personal visit with Santa. This is a free
event for our community.
• Many of you are aware that November and December are the busiest months at our
City's Oxcart Food Pantry. As Thanksgiving approaches next week, it's important to
remember that many of our residents are struggling. You can help us fight hunger
locally by making a cash donation or a donation of non-perishable food items to the
pantry. The North Olmsted Sites Program is also going to be sponsoring the Empty
Bowls Project with all proceeds going to our food pantry. This event is happening
Thursday, December 51h, at the North Olmsted Community Cabin, and the cost is $30.
There are limited tickets, so if you are interested in participating, you should act soon.
For your $30, you get soup and bread dinner, desserts and beverages, and extra ceramic
11-19-24 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 2
