WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to proceed <br />with the R.F.Q. process to pre -qualify contractors to demolish dangerous buildings <br />condemned due to fire or other sudden, catastrophic loss. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OFNORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and she is hereby authorized <br />to solicit S.O.Q.s via the R.F.Q. process to pre -qualify contractors to be utilized to <br />demolish and remove dangerous buildings located in the City of North Olmsted, based <br />upon demolition Orders issued by the Building Commissioner, in order to protect the <br />health, safety and general welfare of the citizens. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter an <br />agreement with a pre -qualified demolition contractor, as recommended by the Director of <br />Public Safety following the receipt of quotes and approval by the Board of Control, to <br />provide for and proceed with the razing of any dangerous building in the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation be effective <br />immediately so that the public nuisance can be abated by the City expeditiously, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED: U,.1 <br />ATTEST. <br />BEATRICE TA <br />Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: 1.2110 <br />MAYOR NICOLE DAIL J EN S <br />First Reading.' d <br />Second Reading: /02 3' <br />Third Reading o2— 7— <br />Committee: c6j1dU_ <br />LOTJISJ BROSSARD <br />President of Council <br />APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM <br />Is/Michael R.
