It is also observed that more crashes happened during the months July until October, and during the weekdays, <br />which suggests that the number of crashes increase as school picks up during the fall and when school is in <br />session. Many of these pedestrian and bike related crashes happens along the major routes to North Olmsted <br />schools such as Lorain Rd, Clague Rd, and Columbia Rd. When categorized by crash locations, it was observed <br />that most of the crashes happened at mid -block roadway segments (39 crashes), which includes 1 fatal injury <br />and 6 serious injury crashes. In one of the reports, a serious injury crash happened between a passenger vehicle and a <br />bicycle on Lorain Rd at the Mackenzie Rd intersection. The passenger car stopped at the red light at the <br />intersection to make a right turn, and as the car made the right turn, it struck a bicycle crossing in the crosswalk. <br />The bicyclist was ejected from the bicycle and sustained a serious injury. A fatal crash happened at Columbia Rd <br />
