Existing Encouragement Programs <br />Big Bike Bash —The North Olmsted Recreation Center has hosted a community -oriented summertime biking <br />activity around August. In the event, they start their ride in a parking lot behind the North Olmsted High School <br />and provides a bicycle obstacle course, and the biking event continues onto the North Olmsted bike path. Police <br />officers are available on site to help fix repairs and ensure safety. <br />Figure 13. Big Bike Bash! <br />Safety Town —A safety town school resource is available through the North Olmsted Recreation Center and is a <br />one-week course that teaches safe practices both at school and at home for children. It serves as an <br />opportunity for students to learn important safety precautions, such as regarding crossing the street, bike <br />safety, pedestrian safety, school bus safety, fire safety, seatbelt safety, 911 emergency calls, and stranger <br />danger. The program is open to children entering Kindergarten for a fee, and is held in two different weeks in <br />June with multiple sessions <br />Figure 14 and 15. North Olmsted Safety Town <br />
