Other Public Input (Meetings, Pop -Ups, etc.) <br />Engaging people who live and work in North Olmsted was an essential tool in the plan development process. <br />North Olmsted responded by meeting people where they already were to build trust in the Plan and improve the <br />overall quality of the findings. Public input was collected through several methods: public meetings, a <br />community input session, online surveys, and in-person surveys. <br />North Olmsted Youth Sports Night Pop -Up <br />Figure 17. Engagement booth at Youth sports Night <br />On October 10, 2024, the SRTS team had a pop-up booth in the middle school/ high school youth Sports Night <br />football game. Graphic boards with information regarding the SRTS initiative as well as active transportation was <br />displayed for students and their families to see and ask questions. The pop-up booth serves as an opportunity <br />for the team to interact with the community and hear direct concerns and feedback coming from different age <br />groups. <br />Comprehensive Plan Meeting <br />The SRTS team also joined the city s comprehensive plan meeting. The comprehensive plan is being developed in <br />conjunction to the School Travel Plan. With this, listening to the comprehensive plan meeting ensures that the <br />School Travel Plan aligns with the city's ongoing as well as future planned initiatives and projects. Community <br />members offered rich and consistent feedback throughout the engagement process. Caregivers report that <br />children are interested in walking and biking to school and parents' express belief that walking and biking to <br />school is a healthy behavior, but parental concerns about safety influence their decisions to allow children to <br />walk or bike to school <br />
