Mr. Lannon:
Hello everyone, my name is Michael Lannon, L-A-N-N-O-N. I live at 5830 MacKenzie right
between Jim and right between Char. I have lived in my home for 72 years. My big thing is and
I'm not faulting any one of us here, we have individuals who don't care. We have individuals
who could care less about respect or anything else. But as a young man at 72, I'm in good
health, relatively speaking. For me to go out to get my mail, no one seems to even care, slow
down or move over even a little to allow that individual to get their mail. I have been almost hit
repeatedly because they don't care what happens to individuals. Personally, if it's at all
possible, if you would consider it, why don't we change the speed limit from 35 to 25 and make
it a complete speed zone thing that's checked. Most of us are seniors. We've been in our
homes a long time. I have no intentions of leaving my house till the day I drop dead. So please,
if it's within your power to do something, I'm asking you for all of us, to please take care of this
speed problem. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Alright, seeing no other comments from the audience, we will now move into legislation.
LEGISLATION
Council Clerk:
Legislation on third reading.
Ordinance 2025-30, introduced by Mayor Jones. An Ordinance providing for the issuance and
sale of not to exceed $625,000 of Notes, in anticipation of the issuance of Bonds, to provide
funds to pay costs of constructing, reconstructing, furnishing, equipping and otherwise
improving the city's fire stations, together with all necessary appurtenances thereto; and
declaring an emergency.
Councilman Scarl:
Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Councilman Scarl.
Councilman Scarl:
I move to adopt 2025-30, and ask for a second.
Councilman Limpert:
Second.
Council President Brossard:
Motion to adopt Ordinance 2025-30 made by Councilman Scarl, seconded by Councilman
Limpert. Roll call, please.
05-07-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 16
