fact, on the other side there's like three young children. So there should be a sign about being
careful. Thank you.
Mr. Walsh:
Dennis Walsh, 5635 MacKenzie, and I just want to say the speed signs showing you how fast
you're going is bad because they want to see how fast they can go in 500 feet from Lorain down
MacKenzie, and a lot of the young kids, or a lot of people have the loud mufflers now. It's
getting to be a thing where who's got the loudest muffler. So at 12 o'clock at night the house is
shaking. You don't know if it's an earthquake or what. That's about it. Thank you.
Ms. Leonard:
Good evening. My name is Karen Leonard and I actually live at 4477 Ranchview. So I can concur
with the residents as far as the dealerships go. I live right behind the Subaru Dealership and
they are going up and down our street as well and I know I'm not talking about that. I'm just
concurring that they do do their test drive up and down every street in this City. What I am here
to do is to kind of clarify with Director Scofield actually. So you want, my parents live on
Ranch.. I mean on MacKenzie. So very near and dear to my heart. So anytime something like
this happens you want every resident to call 911, or do you want them to call 777-1234? That
would be my question and to follow that up with I hope that the dispatchers take these calls
seriously as well instead of stating something like I don't have anybody in the area. Thank you.
Safety Director Scofield:
Thank you. If it's a serious life safety issue, if you've almost been hit or you have been hit or
there's been damage, please call 911. That's the best way to get immediate assistance and to
get an officer to respond. If it's not urgent call the non -emergency number and we can still
send a patrol car out to the area and they can take a statement, they can start a report or
whatever it is that you would like to do. So I thank you for asking for the clarification, but don't
be afraid to call either 911 or the non -emergency number to report something when it
happens.
... [inaudible from the audience]
Council President Brossard:
... Folks, I just need to remind you if you wish to speak it really has to be at the podium. The
microphones don't pick you up when you're talking from the seats.
Mr. Grant:
Hi, Jim Grant, 5812 MacKenzie Road. Char is right, we see speeders every day. Sometimes like
70, 80 miles an hour, it's crazy. You mentioned the speed cameras and I know officers are
supposed to be there in order to issue a real ticket, but if nothing else, even if an officer isn't
there, would it not serve as a deterrent? So that's my two cents, a speed camera. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you.
05-07-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 15
