Mr. President, if I may... We have been working with Drees for well over a year. At my request
as Drees has certain rights under the home purchase agreement, there have been several
conversations, the last one happened just this last Friday. Drees has met with Mr. Mollohan,
he's met with the President of the Forest Ridge West Park Civic Association Members, and has
agreed to help assist in designing a new entryway sign for that neighborhood on Lorain Road.
It's my understanding at the end of last week that they came to a point where they were even
willing to pay a portion of the cost associated with the fence for residents. In addition to that,
the key itself in the transfer will have a 20-foot easement. We met with some homeowners
along Tudor Drive that asked us to clear cut everything, between them and... so what I'm trying
to say is that there's no one -size -fits -all scenario. I can assure the members of this body that
Drees has been more than accommodating and has been a great partner to work with and has
done what they can to accommodate as many folks as possible. Even putting in the Do Not
Disturb offer that we required, and they lost between three and five units which is right around
between $800,000 to $1,000,000 on the project as a whole. They've been very accommodating
thus far and we look forward to their final submittal at Planning Commission.
Councilman Limpert:
Mr. President Pro Tem.
Council President Pro Tempore Scarl:
Go ahead.
Councilman Limpert:
Mr. Upton could you explain we have the Do Not Disturb line, what's the set -back of the new
homes properties, what's the backyard set -back?
Director Upton:
It varies, remember it's a planned development, it varies...
Councilman Limpert:
Oh sorry, let me clarify, because I said set -back, I meant backyard lottage.
Director Upton:
There's 20 feet that surrounds all the residential properties that cannot be touched. It's also
subject to a conservation easement that the members of the HOA for the New Forest
Commons, they pay into and it gets maintained in perpetuity.
Councilman Limpert:
Thank you, Mr. President.
Council President Pro Tempore Scarl:
Thank you. Seeing no other comments from the audience, we will now move into legislation.
05-20-25 Council Meeting Minutes - Page 8
