• Springvale has a fun concert coming up on Saturday, September 27t". The band blends
70s, 80s, and 90s with TV-themed songs, so it should be a great time, and we'd love to
see Councilmembers stop by.
• Construction of the South Interceptor EQ Tank has begun. This important project will
provide storage during wet weather in the sanitary sewer system, helping reduce
basement flooding and overflows into our environment.
• We've installed a new pedestrian hybrid crosswalk signal, replacing the old beacon
signal at the Clague Road and Alexander Road intersection. This is a newer design that
many drivers have not seen before, so we have posted information and instructions on
our social platforms for our residents. So if Councilmembers need that as well to pass
out to the residents, please reach out and we'll make sure to get that to you.
• Work continues on Phase 2 of the North Olmsted Community Park. The water retention
basin has been constructed and filled with gravel under the new Senior Center parking
lot. Grading preparations are underway for new pickleball and tennis courts, and
grading and foundational work for the splash pad is also in process. The new baseball
field infield has been constructed with the drainage around the perimeter. The new
parking lot on East Park has been excavated. And, as I mentioned previously, the new
walking trail is open, and we're pleased to share that it's being used often. So these
exciting amenities will add to the growing recreational opportunities available to our
community when the project opens in Spring of 26.
• And finally, we continue to see strong economic growth with the influx of new
businesses. Build the Pho, which is a Vietnamese cuisine restaurant, has just had their
grand opening, and it is one of two planned mall restaurants from the same business
owner, expanding North Olmsted's cultural reach and reflecting the diversity of our
community and those around us, and that concludes my report, Mr. President. Thank
you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you, Mayor. Director of Law Gareau, do you have a report this evening?
Law
Law Director Gareau:
• Just a quick note, most of you are probably aware, but I'll speak to the issue that Clerk
Taylor, on the 11th, put out notification to the administration and people here at City
Hall to participate in an educational process for the new legislative request procedure
that you guys approved. She's worked to put together the format, implemented it,
rolled it out electronically. It's near and dear to my heart because then it ends up
ultimately at my desk. I was happy to attend and participate as needed, and I think she
did a great job. And I'm looking forward to seeing this new procedure roll out, and
hopefully no bumps. But I'm optimistic it's going to be a better, improved way to make
sure that we get done what you need to get done. So thank you to Clerk Taylor.
09...
