Mr. Don Primosch:
Yeah, okay.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you.
Mr. Don Primosch:
Thank you.
Mr. Jeff Sturgeon:
Jeff Sturgeon, 3092 West 231. 1 saw on our city calendar we have coming up soon, fire
prevention safety coming up at the fire station. And one thing I'd like to see, I think I mentioned
this a few meetings ago, is maybe by this time next year, I would love to see where we are
going into an empty house, a house that is up for sale... and going to make sure that they have a
working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. I've seen this work in the City of
Willoughby. They have a great program out there. They check for three other things, but I just
would like the smoke detectors and the CO detectors, and it was like $100 or $120. And then
the money that we collect from that would be nice if we put it into fire prevention into our city.
I'd just like to see some discussion on that, and hopefully at the same time next year, if we're
doing a fire prevention, that that would be something that would be into place. I mean, it's sad.
This city, I know we've lost in my lifetime. There's been a few deaths because of fire where they
didn't have smoke detectors, and from a safety point of view, I think it's going to make not only
that house that is going to transfer, safer, but the neighbors. And I just think from a safety
point of view, why not? It'd be a win -win situation. I just would love for discussion on it, and
hopefully something like that would happen.
And I do have a question, unless I missed something... wasn't there some discussion or talk
about what's going on with the North Olmsted, the newer letter signs up by 480? Is that getting
moved or is it going to stay there? Is it going to get bigger? Did I miss anything on that?
Mayor Jones:
Mr. President?
Council President Brossard:
Mayor.
Mayor Jones:
Thank you. Hi, Mr. Sturgeon. Yes, we are. We, as in the administration, is still working with
ODOT on exactly what the specs were for that, and then also additional enhancements to the
bridge area as well. So that's an ongoing discussion that we've met with ODOT over the summer
about that, and they're working with their engineers as well, and so we'll continue to keep
Council updated on that progress.
Mr. Jeff Sturgeon:
Okay. Would that be public?
09 ...1.6-.25 Council Meeting Minutes . Pag—
