at a cost of $106,500.00 and further authorizing the Mayor following the approval from
the Board of Control to execute all documents necessary to make the purchase. Mayor
Jones stated that this was also in the 2025 budget and the current system is not up to
the State Fire Code. After some discussion, a motion was made to recommend to the
rest of the Council and was seconded and passed by a vote of 2-0, and the Public Safety,
Health and Welfare Committee ended at 8:21 p.m., and that concludes my report, thank
you.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Councilman Marrie, Chairman of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee, do
you have a report this evening?
Intra-Governmental Relations Committee
Councilman Marrie:
No report tonight, thank you.
COMMUNICATIONS
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Are there any letters or communications to come before Council at this time?
Council Clerk:
No, Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Moving into audience participation. Thank you for attending tonight's Council
meeting. Those attending Council meetings should show the same respect to others that they
wish to have shown to them. It is not a debate, and public comment speakers should not
expect a back -and -forth exchange. If there is anyone in the audience who would like to address
Council, please come to the podium, state and spell your name and address for the clerk. If you
live in a city other than North Olmsted, please state the name of that city and proceed with
your comments. You will have up to five minutes.
Robert Sharp:
Hello, my name is Robert Sharp, S-H-A-R-P, 25407 Butternut Ridge here in North Olmsted. First
of all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and thank everyone here for your
service to the City of North Olmsted. We really appreciate it. I'm not currently aware of the
status of this Stearns Row project. I haven't heard anything else, so we're continuing to
organize and grow our resistance to this project. The response really is overwhelming, much
more than I think any of us expected. There are signs all over the city. I drive down a street in
North Olmsted that I haven't been on in a long time, and there's a sign. It all has to mean
something. We did not expect this level of appreciation and interest on Butternut Ridge for
people that even don't live on Butternut Ridge. Everyone we talk to is opposed to this
development, everybody. Everyone loves Butternut the way it is. I go into the UPS store on
Great Northern Boulevard. Three employees in there work in North Olmsted... did you hear
12-02-25 Council Meeting Minutes Page :i 1.
