COMMUNICATIONS
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Are there any letters or communications to come before Council at this time?
Council Clerk:
No, Mr. President.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. We will now move into audience participation. Thank you for attending tonight's
Council meeting. Public comment offers the opportunity for members of the public to share
information and bring issues and concerns to the attention of City Council members. It is not a
debate, and public comment speakers should not expect a back -and -forth exchange. Council
members may, however, ask clarifying questions of the speaker, City staff, or fellow Council
members. Those attending City Council meetings should show the same respect to others that
they wish to have shown for them. Before I invite the public to come up to speak, I just ask that
if there's any members of Director Copfer's family who would like to speak first, we'll allow you
to go first, and then we'll move to the general public. So if there is anyone in the audience who
would like to address Council, please come to the podium, state and spell your name and
address for the clerk. If you live in a city other than North Olmsted, please state the name of
that City and proceed with your comments. You will have up to five minutes.
Dan Copfer:
Hello. My name is Dan Copfer, son of Carrie Copfer. I was not prepared for this, but I will say,
very happily, I'm so proud of all the work you've done for the City. You've been great here.
You've been an inspiration to both of us, and we're very proud and happy for you, and we look
forward to your next adventure. Thank you.
Council President Brossard:
If there's anyone else, we're going to close this out unless you step-up.
Rober Parry:
My name is Robert Perry, P-A-R-R-Y. I live at 27150 Butternut Ridge Road, and I'm here to make
some additional comments concerning the proposed rezoning. The proposed PUD rezoning of a
historic property in the middle of North Olmsted Historic District to allow multifamily
development on the subject parcel of 25896 Butternut Ridge Road is an affront to the
homeowners who live on Butternut and a betrayal of the very core of the historic district.
Butternut Ridge, one of the first streets in the city, was developed over the last 200 years as a
single-family area, evidenced by the lack of any apartments and multifamily or commercial
uses. It was and is a street of stately homes, farmhouses, and historic structures, many on large
lots, resulting in a spaciousness that is not found elsewhere in the city of North Olmsted. The
current zoning for most of the street is single-family A zone, the largest minimum lot size in the
12-16-25 Council Meeting Minutes .. Page 1.3
