every other resident of the City is entitled to, and so, no, I don't think any of that is appropriate,
they've had more than enough time. No.
Mr. Madden: No with comment, as was just spoken, I agree with them that we've given them a
30-day extension already and have seen no progress, so no also.
Mr. Marrie: Yes, with comment, just voting yes to ensure the due process is done, as has been
afforded to companies and developers in the past. This also will ultimately give us the most
information available to make the best -informed decision. Thank you.
Ms. Gilchrist: No.
Council President Brossard:
The motion to extend the Planning and Design recommendation deadline 30 days for
Ordinance 2025-100 fails by a vote of 3-4.
Before we move on with reports, I wanted to let those in attendance know that because the
motion to extend failed, the Planning and Design Commission will hold a special meeting
tomorrow to provide Council with a recommendation on Ordinance 2025-100, as is required by
our Charter.
Councilman Limpert:
Mr. President, if I could just have a moment of personal privilege.
Council President Brossard:
Absolutely.
Councilman Limpert:
I'll save my comments for Ms. Copfer, as I will get another chance to do that later. Mary Ellen,
it's been 12 years, and while I always jokingly like to point out that I'm senior to you by five
weeks on Council, it never really felt like that. [laughing] Because you came in confident,
blazing with energy, and you've carried that with you for 12 years through our, you know, we've
had many accomplishments and challenges that we've both lived through, some comedy and
some stress. And while I don't always agree with you on a number of things, and we won't scale
that, we rarely, if ever, didn't take each other's phone call to hear what each other's thought
was, and I think that's really important, and it's something that I value, that that's been, we've
had for 12 years, and hopefully it will still continue. I'm sure you're going to call me on some
things, and I may make a phone call or two. So, with that, I just want to thank you for being my
partner here for 12 years on council, and wish you luck in your next endeavor.
Councilwoman Hemann:
Thank you.
12 15-25 Council Meeting Minutes Page 7
