Council Clerk:
Mr. Marrie: No, with comment. I strongly support expanding housing opportunities in our city
because it helps keep neighborhoods vibrant, attracts new families, and supports the local
economy and businesses. I can't, however, support this proposal because the size and design of
the development are incompatible with the character and preservation requirements of our
historical district. There is also a clear concern and lack of support from residents and the
broader community. A proposal that meets our housing needs while preserving the area's
unique historic character is essential, and should have a thoughtful balance that honors both
priorities. Thank you.
Mr. Limpert: No
Ms. Gilchrist: No
Ms. Carr: No
Mr. Scarl: No
Mr. Shymske: No
Council President Brossard:
Ordinance 2025-100 fails by a vote of 0-6.
Council Clerk:
Ordinance 2026-6, introduced by Mayor Jones.
