• Since our last meeting, the North Olmsted Fire and Police Departments have introduced
a new initiative to support community members impacted by critical incidents. Thank
you cards will be distributed to bystanders as a gesture of appreciation, each including a
QR code linking to mental health resources.
• Additionally, the Fire Department reported strong activity in the first quarter of 2026,
responding to 1,305 total calls, including 1,080 EMS runs and 225 fire runs. Notably, 697
incidents or 53%, involved overlapping responses, highlighting the continued demand
on personnel and coordinated emergency services.
• In recognition of that, we extend our appreciation to our Dispatch staff during National
Telecommunicator Recognition Week for their essential role in emergency response
operations.
• Community outreach remains a priority. Police Crime Prevention Officer Pruitt and Fire
Chief Strazzo recently presented, to more than 80 residents at a senior lunch and learn,
providing valuable education on crime prevention and home fire safety.
• Firefighter Chester Connelly was recently honored with the Blue Coats Award, by the
Knights of Columbus here in North Olmsted, recognizing his dedication strong work
ethic and commitment to serving others.
• And our community engagement was definitely evident, this past weekend at Juju's
Dino Dash, which drew approximately 800 participants in honor of Julian Wood. The
event continues to grow as a meaningful community tradition, raising funds for local
student scholarship and youth initiatives, and I want to thank the city officials who were
there at the event and may Julian's memory continue to be a blessing.
• Lastly, the City is currently hosting its Spring Hazardous Waste Collection this week, April
20th through the 25th, a service offered three times annually. Residents were notified
through social media and the City's alert system.
• And just to close, we remain grateful to the dedication and professionalism and service
of all of our personnel and community members who are keeping North Olmsted safe
and strong, and that, Mr. President, concludes my report.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you, Mayor. Director of Finance Radeff, do you have a report this evening?
Finance
Finance Director Radeff:
No report this evening, thank you.
Council President Brossard:
Moving into Council Committee Reports.
Councilman Limpert, Chairman of the Public Safety, Health and Welfare Committee, do you
have a report this evening?
04 21 26- Council Meeting Minutes ...
