[Swearing -in of Police Officer Andrew Trhlin, Fire Chief Anthony Strazzo, Fire Captain Shaun
Kibler and new hire Firefighters Christian Ford, Bryce Hayden and Cole Riley]
Mayor Jones:
Thank you, President. I'm pleased to share several exciting developments and community
events that highlight the continued growth, investment and strong community spirit of North
Olmsted.
• Families visiting Little Clague Park in Ward 2 will notice a significant upgrade to the
playground area with the installation of all new playground equipment. These
improvements provide modern safe and engaging recreational opportunities for
children of all ages and abilities. Represent our ongoing commitment to maintaining
high -quality parks and public spaces for our residents to enjoy.
• It was my great pleasure to attend the annual Springvale 90s Club Banquet where we
celebrated 22 remarkable residents who have reached their 90s. This special event
recognizes individuals whose lives and experiences have helped shaped North Olmsted.
Congratulations to all of this year's honorees and thank you to the dedicated
Community Cabin and Springvale staff who organized such a memorable celebration.
• North Olmsted residents once again demonstrated their patriotism and gratitude during
our annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony. Community members lined the parade
route and gathered at the ceremony to honor the brave men and women who made the
ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Thank you to our Veterans, Civic
Organizations, Public Safety personnel, volunteers and residents who helped make this
tradition continue on.
• Economic development continues in North Olmsted with the groundbreaking ceremony
for a new Culver's restaurant. This exciting addition represents continued investment in
our community and will bring jobs, dining options and economic activity to the city. I
would like to thank the ownership team, the North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce,
Members of City Council, and all those involved in bringing this project to fruition. We
wish the owners great success as construction moves forward, and as always, thank you
City Council for your continued support and involvement in our community.
• And finally, I would like to remind Council and our residents that this Sunday we will
officially celebrate the grand opening of the newly transformed community park. This
exciting event is an opportunity for residents of all ages to experience the parks many
new amenities, and enjoy a day of family -friendly activities. The celebration will also
serve as North Olmsted's kickoff to America's 250th Anniversary featuring a concert of
patriotic music, baseball games, community activities, and much more. It promises to
be a wonderful day of recreation, community pride, and patriotic celebration. I would
like to extend my sincere appreciation to Director Pinchek on his vision for the park and
the tireless follow-through to make it happen for North Olmsted; and thank you to the
entire Parks and Recreation Staff for their hard work dedication and countless hours of
planning that have gone into making this exciting event possible in order to showcase a
community park the way it should be. Their commitment to providing exceptional
experiences for our residents has helped create what will undoubtedly be a spectacular
celebration and an enduring legacy for the City of North Olmsted and its residents for
