positive feedback from those who came out to celebrate. While there is still some work <br />ongoing, the excitement and appreciation from the community has been clear and <br />encouraging. We were also pleased to kick off our summer concert series at the new <br />bandshell with a performance by the Spasmatics, that energy and turnout made for a <br />great start to our summer concert season. <br />• Additionally, Touch -A -Truck was held this past Friday, June 12th, from 11:00 a.m. until <br />1:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Recreation Center. That was also very well attended. I <br />want to extend a sincere thank you to our Recreation Center staff for their hard work in <br />organizing and hosting such an engaging event for the families in our community, and to <br />our Service Department and Fire and Police who represented our city so well. <br />• I'm also pleased to report that the first of four Safety Town Sessions began today, helping <br />our youngest residents learn important safety fundamentals in a fun and engaging <br />environment. We appreciate the continued collaboration between staff, volunteers, and <br />our safety forces in making this long-standing program a success. <br />• Looking ahead, I'm pleased to share that this Thursday we will host the first in a series of <br />Splash Pad Parties from 5 to 7 p.m. These events are a great opportunity for families to <br />enjoy one of our more popular amenities at no cost, and we encourage residents to come <br />out and take part. <br />• In addition, the Service Department and Roads Division are in full swing with our planned <br />Street Resurfacing and Rejuvenation Program. Work is actively underway and will <br />continue as we invest in maintaining and improving our city infrastructure. And as always, <br />I appreciate all of your efforts in continuing to make our city a vibrant, safe, and <br />welcoming place to be. <br />• And finally, I would like to announce that we did find out through our State <br />Representative Chris Glassburn, who is with us this evening, and our State Senator Tom <br />Patton, that our requests for both the Veterans Memorial for $100,000.00 and Old Town <br />Hall for $75,000.00 has been placed into the State Capital Budget, which will be voted on, <br />and with Senator Glassburn here, I'm sorry, Representative Glassburn here, I'm already <br />advancing you to the Senate seat. I did want to point out that he was also present today <br />while we were making a presentation to County Council on behalf of our city and our <br />Regional Dispatch Center. And, you know, it's not often that our State Reps are present <br />in our cities and are walking with us as we are requesting things to come back to our city, <br />requesting resources to come back to our residents, and Representative Glassburn has <br />been there every step of the way for whatever we're requesting. And I would like to offer <br />my sincere appreciation for that and for his service in our city and all of the cities that he <br />represents, and that, Mr. President, concludes my report.
