and I can't wait to see what the next phase will bring there. Thank you. And also thank you to our
old friend and colleague, Representative Glassburn, thank you for all your help, appreciate that.
Law Director Gareau, do you have a report this evening?
Law
Law Director Gareau:
Thank you, Mr. President.
• I'm pleased to report that I was, as I do each year, I prepare a report at the request of the
Auditor and the Director of Finance on outstanding matters concerning the City of North
Olmsted that are in excess of claims of $10,000. That's what they're looking for. Generally
speaking, most claims that we have are insurance claims. They're also looking for any
actions before any administrative boards, Civil Rights Commission, things like that, state
or federal. And as we did last year, I was able to report that there were no pending claims,
and that there were no issues pending before any state or federal agency for purposes of
reviewing, for them preparing their annual audit. So, it's good news to deliver that.
• Right after I said that, we did receive a lawsuit. It's not for money, though. We received a
lawsuit, David Godomski v. The City of North Olmsted. This is a complaint for declaratory
relief, temporary restraining order, and injunctive relief concerning our parking code here
in the City of North Olmsted. I don't see that very often, so we will, we're reviewing this
in the Law Department as we speak, and we will prepare an answer and represent the
city in the Court of Common Pleas on that matter.
• Also, we did have a small claims case that I think I mentioned to you last time. It was
heading off to court based on somebody's car being towed. That case was dismissed. So,
that's the status of where we are since we last met. Thank you, Mr. President, members
of Council, that concludes my report.
Council President Brossard:
Thank you. Director of Finance Radeff, do you have a report this evening?
Finance
Finance Director Radeff:
I do, Mr. President. Thank you.
• Two weeks ago, we priced our $15.1 million in bond anticipation notes. We had five times
orders, which means we had five investors who wanted to purchase our notes because of
our credit history. We were able to negotiate the yield of those notes down from 4% to
2.7%. So, that's even better than what we had performed last year. So, that's good for us.
We're saving money on the debt we're issuing.
• In addition to that, I have gotten three out of the four organizations that I have been
pursuing in compliance with admissions tax. The last one I expect to be in compliance next
month, but we're so far bringing in an additional $1,000 a month in admissions tax. More
than that, but at least $1,000.
• And then, lastly, we began the budgeting process for 2027.1 sent out our budget template
so we can start pulling those together. The new goal is to have a more substantially
