<br />Thank you. Councilman Madden, Chairman of the Environmental Control Committee, do you
<br />have a report this evening?

<br />Councilman Madden:
<br />Yes, Mr. President, thank you. The Environmental Control Committee met on Tuesday, June 9,
<br />2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Caucus Room. Present were Committee Members Madden, Carr, and
<br />Scarl, Council President Brossard, Councilwoman Gilchrist, and Councilman Marrie and Shymske.
<br />From the Administration were the Mayor, Directors of Law, Finance, Economic Development,
<br />Service, the Chief of Staff, City Engineer Filarski, as well as guests.
<br />• On the agenda was Resolution 2026-50, which is a Resolution authorizing the city
<br />engineer to advertise for bids for the award of a contract for the 1-480 Great Northern
<br />Boulevard Bridge landscaping project, as detailed in the specifications on file, and
<br />authorizing the Mayor, following the approval of the Board of Control, to contract for
<br />same with the lowest and best bidder. Mr. Filarski provided Council with renderings of
<br />what the landscaping may look like with an area of plants, flowers, and shrubs planted on
<br />both the northeast and southwest sides of the bridge at the Great Northern exits.
<br />Perennial plants will be used, and the choice of plantings will include orange and black
<br />color schemes to show our city colors. The design will use two walls to create a three -
<br />tiered planting surface of level ground. The selections will be low maintenance to attempt
<br />to maintain a neat appearance. Any maintenance needed will be performed by the City
<br />Service Department, and the approximate cost of the project will be in the range of
<br />$100,000.00 to $110,000.00. A motion was made by Councilman Madden, seconded by
<br />Councilwoman Carr, and the Committee voted 3-0 to recommend the Resolution to all of
<br />Council. The Environmental Control Committee concluded at 7:11 p.m., and that
<br />concludes my report, Mr. President. Thank you.
