REPORTS Mayor Jones: 1 do, Mr. President, and I'd like to welcome Council back. I hope that you enjoyed your time off. It has been a busy and exciting summer here in North Olmsted. It's been wonderful to see our community come together and enjoy all that our city has to offer, from the Rec Center's splash pad parties, movies in the park, to our summer concert series. These events have given residents and families opportunities to connect and enjoy the season. We are looking forward to keeping that momentum going, thanks to the North Olmsted Community Council once again holding Homecoming. This year's August 14th through 16th celebration will be held at our community park and promises to be another great weekend filled with activities, entertainment, and community pride. Our Fire Department continues to do an outstanding job serving our residents. The monthly reports they share showcasing the work that they do, not just here, but also the help they offer neighboring communities when mutual aid is required. Hydrant flushing is ongoing through Wards 1 and 2 as part of our regular maintenance efforts to support the reliability and quality of our water system. Our Service Department continues to stay busy throughout the summer months. Curbside chipping is ongoing and our crews continue maintaining and improving our roadways. The EQ Basin project is nearing completion, which is another important infrastructure improvement for our city. The Spruce Stormwater project is also moving forward and remains on track for an estimated completion in October of this year. We received capital budget funding in the amount of $100,000 for the Veterans Memorial Project. This is an important investment in honoring the men and women who have served our country and we look forward to working collaboratively with the VFW to ensure that these funds are used in a way that maximizes the impact and creates a meaningful space for our community to reflect, remember, and honor our veterans. The Lorain Road renovation project has officially begun in coordination with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Phase 1, which extends from Stearns Road to Dover Center Road, is expected to be completed this year. Phase 2, from Dover Center Road to Canterbury Road, will begin in the spring as weather conditions permit. This project represents a significant investment in one of our city's most traveled corridors and while projects this size require patience, the long-term improvements will benefit our residents, businesses, and visitors for decades. I also want to provide an update regarding our continued concerns with First Energy and the ongoing reliability issues that our residents have experienced with their power.
