v <br />z <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2008 - 94 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE <br />NO. 99-107 WHICH ESTABLISHED THE SAFE TRAFFIC <br />ORIENTED POLICING ("STOP') PROGRAM IN THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT, AS <br />PREVIOUSLY AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2004-42, IN <br />ORDER TO FURTHER EXPAND THE PURPOSES FOR <br />WHICH MONIES PAID INTO THE STOP FUND MAY BE <br />EXPENDED, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, in 1999 this Council adopted Ordinance No. 99-107, which established the <br />Safe Traffic Oriented Program ("STOP") unit in the North Olmsted Police Department and <br />created a special fund to account for monies paid into and expended from the fund; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2004 this Council adopted Ordinance No. 2004-42, which amended <br />Section 2 of Ordinance No. 99-107, in order to expand the purposes for which monies in the <br />STOP fund may be expended; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor, the Director of Finance and the <br />Director of Public Safety, that the purposes for which monies in the said Fund may be expended <br />be further expanded to include any need of the Police division including Emergencv Dispatch its <br />; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the <br />Administration, to accordingly further amend Section 2 of Ordinance No. 99-10-7, as previously <br />amended by Ordinance No. 2004-42, to authorize expenditure of funds out of the said Fund for <br />any a4 needs of the Police division includiniz Emergencv Disnatch i*s ais„a+eh ?eses-€e? <br />? <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CI7Y OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 99-107, which presently reads as follows: <br />"Section 2: That there is hereby established a separate Special Revenue Fund for <br />the Safe Traffic Oriented Policing ("STOP") program. The Director of Finance is <br />hereby directed to receive and pay into said separate fund all fines and costs <br />received by the City from Rocky River Municipal Court as a result of the <br />disposition of traffic citations issued by police officers while on STOP duty. Said <br />funds so received into the separate fund may be expended only for payment of <br />compensation to police officers for STOP duty, compensation to the City
