?.ra l 6- (_.?..,. ?.-CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2003 -163 BY: Mayor Musial. AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH AN RFP PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SALLYA. JULIAN TO SERVE AS THE CITY'S ART CONSULTANT FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING AND PURCHASING WORKS OF ART FOR THE CITY'S NEW LIBRARY BUILDING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Library Fund provides for the City to expend Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for art for the new Library building presently under construction and scheduled to open in late winter or early spring; and WHEREAS, the City requires the services of an art consultant to assist the City in selecting and purchasing art for the new Library building; and N'HEREAS, due to time constraints, it is not feasible to select an art consultant through the RFP process provided for and established by Ordinance No. 2002-72 for personal service contracts; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendations of the City's Library Committee and representatives of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, to authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Sally A. Julian to serve as the City's Art Consultant for the purpose of selecting and purchasing art for the new Library building; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to dispense with the RFP process required by Ordinance No. 2002-72, and, upon approval of the City's Board of Control, to enter into a contract with Sally A. Julian of "Julian Contemporary Art" to serve as the City's Art Consultant for the purpose of selecting and purchasing works of art for the City's new Library building. Said contract shall be in a form and substance approved by the Director of Law, and all expenditures made by the City pursuant to said contract, including but not limited to total commissions and total purchase price for works of art selected, shall not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).
