CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2003 - 65 BY: Mayor Musial ??. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FROM INFORMATION SYSTEM CONSULTANTS TD DEVELOP DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCHf1SE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING INFORMATIDN SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED; FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WI7'H THE CONSULTANT SELECTED IN THE RFP PROCESS; AND DECLARIIVG AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has advised this Council that, due to the antiquated nature of the City's current accounting information system, that it is necessary that a new Financial Accounting Information System be designed, purchased and installed prior to the end of the 2003 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, it is necessary, prior to purchasing and installing a new accounting information system, to retain the services of an information system consultant to design the specifications for the system; and N'HEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Finance to request proposals from information system consultants, and further to authorize the Mayor, upon approval by the Board of Control, if necessary, to enter into an Agreement with the consultant selected; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COiINCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Finance be and she hereby is authorized to request proposals for information system consulting services for the design of specifications for the purchase and installation of a new Financial Accounting Information System for the City of North Olmsted in accordance with the Request for Proposal -- fn, formation System Consulting Services (April, 2003), attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A.
