D <br />P <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />aF <br />. ~ ORDINANCE NO. 72-,~p <br />~~~ . <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING FREE TRANSPORTATION <br />ON THE NORTH OLR~fSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE <br />TO RETIRED FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee of Council desires to reward , by <br />granting free transportation on the North Olmsted t~iunicipal Bus Line, full time <br />employees of the City of North Olmsted who have retired ;and <br />WHEREAS, in order to regulate the granting of free transportation, the Transpor- <br />tation Committee of Council requests the aforesaid employees be issued a pass per- <br />mitting them to ride without the payment of any fare ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Traesporte~ion Committee of Council suggests that it be mandatory <br />for the retired employees to receive a letter from the head of the department, he or she <br />was formerly employed with , stating that said employee worked full tit~te for the City <br />of North Olmsted. Said employee will then present the aforesaid letter, testifying <br />to his or her full time employment, to the Director of Public Service who shall issue <br />the pass as hereinbefore mentioned ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted now wishes to authorize <br />the issuance of passes under the terms and conditions as stated heretofore. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. There is hereby established a Systems Pass, valid only on the <br />North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, whih pass shall be issued only by the Director <br />of Public Service upon being furnished evidence that the said retired employee was <br />formerly a full time employee of the City of North Olmsted. In order for the former <br />full time employee of the City of North Olmsted to be issued a Systems Pass, the <br />employee shall request a letter from his or her former department head evidencing <br />the fact that he or she worked for the City of North Olmsted on a full time basis. <br />Section 2. The Director of Public Service shall issue a Systems Pass, which <br />Systems Pass shall be numbered consecutively, and shall keep a record of ail passes <br />issued and to whom issued. The Director of Public Service shall instruct the retired <br />employee that said pass is issued to him or her for their exclusive use ~ and only for <br />the benefit of the individual retired employee. Furthermore, the employee shall be <br />instructed that the Systems Pass is subject to revocation in the event that said <br />Systems Pass is used or attempted to be used by any other person, except the in- <br />dividual to whom the Systems Pass is issued. <br />Section 3. The Director of Public Service is further instructed that it is his <br />responsibility to notify the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line ,and its employees, <br />that the Systems Pass is issued exclusively for the use of the retired employee and <br />no other person, and that any employee of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line <br />who observes a Systems Pass being used or attempted to be used by another person, <br />other then the retired employee, shall report the use or attempted use to a supervisor <br />at the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. Said Supervisor shall immediately notify <br />the Director of Public Service of the City of North Olmsted. It shall be the duty of <br />
