<br />AN ORDINANC£ AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 61-194,
<br />INACTED DECEMBER 5, 1961, ENTITLED " AN ORDI-
<br />NTC£ FIXING CURFEW HOURS FOR MINORS WITH-
<br />IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. "
<br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety has reported to Council and
<br />requested Council's consideration to revise the curfew ordinance of this City,
<br />which review is occasioned by the change of circumstance and the needs to
<br />meet present day activities of minors, and for the better protection of minors
<br />and others, and
<br />WHEREAS, the Legislative Committee and Safety Committee of Council
<br />have given consideration to the requested changes and finds that said changes
<br />are more adaptable to activities of minors than under the previous curfew ordinance.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North
<br />Olmsted, State of Ohio
<br />Section 1. That Chapter 529, Section 529.07, Paragraph A, Paragraph B,
<br />Paragraph C, and Paragraph D, of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances, now
<br />reading as follows:
<br />A. " No person having the control and c,.ustody of, or being the parent
<br />or guardian of a minor under the age of 16, shall permit such minor to congre ,
<br />wander, loiter, or play upon the streets, sidewalks, public places, places of
<br />amusement and entertainrneflt, , or on unenclosed lands within the municipality
<br />between the hours of 11:00 P. M and 5:00 A. M, the following day unless ac-
<br />companied by a parent, guardian, or a responsible person over 21 years of age
<br />or by a member of his family 18 years of age or older.
<br />B,. No person having the control and custody of, or being the parent
<br />or guardian of, a minor 16 to 18 years of age, shall permit such minor to congre-
<br />gate ,wander, loiter, or play upon the streets, sidewe~lks , public places, places
<br />of amusement and entertainment, or in unenclosed lands within the municipality
<br />between the hours of 12:00 Midnight and ~s:00 A. M. the following day unless ac-
<br />companied by a parent, guardian, or a responsik~le person or a member of his
<br />family over 21 years of age.
<br />C. This restriction shall not apply to minors on an emergency errand
<br />or on legitimate business such as the delivery of newspapers or on legitimate
<br />business as directed by the parent, guardian, or custodian of said minor, ar by
<br />a person who has been given responsibility for a minor's control and custody by
<br />the person who is legally responsible for the control and discipline of said minor.
