<br />~ `.~ <br />:. <br />'ivt~:.i..:. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 70- 7g <br />By <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION AND <br />COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLI~6TED; ESTABLISHING SALARIES OF THE <br />MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY FOR <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED; ESTABLISHING THE PER <br />DIEM ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EMPLOYEES <br />WfiILE ATTENDING POLICE SCHOOL, AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCE N0, 70-25, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council <br />that it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of <br />the members of the Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police <br />Department of the City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section <br />139.02 "Composition and Classifications" of the North Olmsted <br />Codified Ordinance) shall read as follows: <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel as set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist <br />of the Chief of Police who shall be in charge of the entire Police <br />Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of one (1) <br />Secretary and one (1) Clerk. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General <br />Duty Uniform Roster, which shall consist of Two (2) Captains; Three <br />(3) Lieutenants; Four (4) Sergeants; Twenty-Five (25) Patrolmen; <br />Twenty-five (25) Auxiliary Police; Fourteen (14) School Guards; <br />and One (1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective <br />Bureau consisting of Four (4) of the Police personnel mentioned in <br />Section 1, C, above. One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall <br />serve as the Juvenile Officer of the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classi- <br />fied by the Director of Public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2. That effective April 1, 1970, and henceforth, the <br />base salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby <br />fixed and determined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Captain <br />Lieutenant of Police <br />Sergeants <br />Patrolmen for First Year <br />Patrolmen fors Becc~n~t Year <br />Patrolmen after Second Year <br />$13,500.00 Annually <br />12,280.00 Annually <br />11,370.00 Annually <br />10,530.00 Annually <br />7,488.00 Annually <br />8,000.00 Annually <br />9,750.00 Annually <br />f <br />
