r ~"* <br />7 . <br />f <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 70-..~~` <br />r <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ACCUMULATED <br />"SICK LEAVE "POLICY AND THE REGULATIONS <br />GOVERNING ACCUMULATED "SICK LEAVE " <br />FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN ALL DEPARTMENTS OF <br />THE CITY OF NC}RTH OLMSTED, BUT EXCLUDING <br />THEREFROM ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 68-43. <br />WHEREAS, The Legislative Committee of Council has been advised by the <br />Mayor that it is desirable to establish a "Sick Leave "plan for the employees of <br />the City of North Olmsted, in order that the employees can ascertain in advance <br />the number of days they may be sick without losing any portion of their wages ;and <br />WHEREAS, The Legislative Committee of Council has met on several occasions <br />and have determined that a "Sick Leave "policy is necessary ;and <br />WHEREAS, Council now wishes to establish the "Sick Leave "policy for <br />all employees of the City of North Olmsted, except elected officials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio <br />Section 1. The "Sick Leave "policy for all employees of the City of North <br />Olmsted, excluding department heads and elected officials is hereby established <br />as follows: <br />A. Sick Leave Credit <br />1. Accumulation of Credit -Sick Leave is earned in accordance with <br />the state minimum requirement at the rate of 1 - 1/4 days per month <br />of employment, or 15 days per year. <br />2. Regularly employed personnel who work less than full time shall <br />receive pro-rated sick leave credit based on the above paragraph <br />for the portion of time they are employed. <br />3. Employees shall receive annual sick leave according to the <br />following formula <br />Sick Leave Days Per Year - 1.25 x months x hours <br />8 <br />Sick leave days per year represent the eight-hour days accumulated ; <br />months represents the months worked per year ;hours represents the <br />hours worked per day. <br />
