~ ~ Y" <br />r~... ~ <br />4' ' <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 70-.~/+~ <br />BY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ;ESTABLISHING <br />SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DE- <br />PARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED : ESTABLISHING THE PER DIEM <br />ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EM- <br />PLOYEES WHILE ATTENDING POLICE SCHOOL, <br />AND REPEALING ORi~INANCE NO. 69-58, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of Council has advised Council the need <br />for additional Policemen to adequately serve the City of North Olmsted ;and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that it <br />is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members of the <br />Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139.02 "Composition and Classi- <br />fications " of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinance) shall read as follows: <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the personnel <br />set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police who shall <br />be in charge of the enure Police Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of one (1) Secretary and <br />one (1) Clerk. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General Duty Uniform <br />Roster, which shall consist of, Two (2) Captains ;Three (3) Lieutenants ;Four <br />(4) Sergeants ;Twenty-Five (25) Patrolmen ;Twenty-Five (25) Auxiliary Police ; <br />Fourteen (14 1 School Guards ;and One (1) Police Mahon, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau <br />consisting of, Four (4) of the Police personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above, <br />One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the Juvenile Officer of the <br />North Olmsted Police Department. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classified by the <br />Director of Public Safety, as required by law. <br />Section 2. That effective February 1, 1970, and henceforth, the base <br />salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby firmed and determined <br />to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Captain <br />Lieutenant of Police <br />Sergeants <br />Patrolmen for First Year <br />$11, 800.00 Annually <br />$10 , 900.00 Annually <br />$10 ,100.00 Annually <br />$ 9 , 650.00 Annually <br />$ 7,488.00 Annually <br />.,_~~ .. <br />
