~ ~ Y" r~... ~ 4' ' CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 70-.~/+~ BY AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ;ESTABLISHING SALARIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DE- PARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED : ESTABLISHING THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EM- PLOYEES WHILE ATTENDING POLICE SCHOOL, AND REPEALING ORi~INANCE NO. 69-58, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of Council has advised Council the need for additional Policemen to adequately serve the City of North Olmsted ;and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members of the Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : Section 1. That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of the City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139.02 "Composition and Classi- fications " of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinance) shall read as follows: A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police who shall be in charge of the enure Police Department. B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of one (1) Secretary and one (1) Clerk. C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of the General Duty Uniform Roster, which shall consist of, Two (2) Captains ;Three (3) Lieutenants ;Four (4) Sergeants ;Twenty-Five (25) Patrolmen ;Twenty-Five (25) Auxiliary Police ; Fourteen (14 1 School Guards ;and One (1) Police Mahon, part-time. D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau consisting of, Four (4) of the Police personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above, One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the Juvenile Officer of the North Olmsted Police Department. E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classified by the Director of Public Safety, as required by law. Section 2. That effective February 1, 1970, and henceforth, the base salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby firmed and determined to be as follows: Chief of Police Captain Lieutenant of Police Sergeants Patrolmen for First Year $11, 800.00 Annually $10 , 900.00 Annually $10 ,100.00 Annually $ 9 , 650.00 Annually $ 7,488.00 Annually .,_~~ ..
