CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 73- 58 By: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE BUS DRIVERS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 72-85, ENACTED Jtiid~ 6 , 19 7 2 WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee and the Finance Committee has recommended an adjustment in the pay rate of the North Olmsted Muni- cipal Bus Line; and WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of making an adjustment in the compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 1. That retroactive to January 1, 1973 compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be as follows: 1. Any person employed as a bus driver with no previous ex- perience or with insufficient prior experience as a bus driver or operator of a public passenger bus shall be required to serve one (1) year as an apprentice. During such year such driver shall be paid: during the first three (3) months of his apprenticeship $3.80 per hour; during the second three (3) months of his apprenticeship $3.85 per hour; during the third three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.90 her hour; and for the final three (3) months of his apprenticeship, $3.95 per hour. After having completed his one (1) year apprenticeship he shall be paid as provided in Paragraph A herein. A. All bus drivers, other than apprentices (as set forth in Paragraph 1 herein), shall be paid at the rate of $4.15 per hour. B. That, excluding secretarial and clerical employees and retroactive to March 1, 1972, all full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line having completed five (5) yews of full time continuous service as employees of said bus line shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary until they have completed their tenth (10) year of continuous full time service. After completing their tenth (10) year and prior to completion of their fifteenth (15) year of continuous full time service they shall be paid 4% of their base annual salary. After completion of their fifteenth (15) year and prior to completion of their twentieth (20) year of continuous full time service they shall be paid 5% of their base annual salary. After their twentieth (20) year of con- tinuous full time service and thereafter they shall be paid 6% of their base annual salary. These payments shall be longevity increments and shall be paid and computed by the Finance Department of the City of North Olmsted, Ohio. C. In computing length of service for the purpose of making pay- ments of longevity increments as hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due them for part-time service as employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. D. That there shall be allowed for each bus driver the sum of $65.00 per year for the acquisition of uniforms to be worn while operat- ing a bus for the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. E. That upon the appointment of a n~a driver he shall be allowed the sum of $75.00 for uniforms and accessories for the first year of such appointment.
