A RESOLUTIOIV COMMENDING SERVICE OF RONALD SLATER FOR HIS PUBLIC SERVICE IN THE NORTH OLMSE D BOARD OF EDUCATION, AS TEACHER, DEAN OF BOYS, AND HEAD FOOTBALL COACH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGEIVCY. WHEREAS, Ronald Slater has served residents of the City of North 40 Olmsted in many capacities for many years ; and WHEREAS, Ronald Slater upon his discharge from the United States Army in September 1946, has beenadt.ached to the North Olmsted Board of Education ; and WHEREAS, he served as the Director of the North Olmsted Recreational Program from its inception in 1949 until March 21, 1968 ; and and WHEREAS, Ronald Slater organized the North Olmsted Touchdown Club ; WHEREAS, Ronald Slater served as Dean of Boys of North Olmsted High School from the year 1955 to the present ; and WHEREAS, Ronald Slater served as the Head Football Coach far the North Olmsted High School accumulating during his tenure as Head Football Coach an excellent win-loss record ; and WHEREAS, in addition to all the foregoing activities Ron Slater managed to successfully fill the position of a Teacher in Social Studies in the North Olmsted Educational System ; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted reyognizing the achievements, as a teaeher, a citizen with broad civic interest, a football coach, but most of all as an " achiever" and " doer;' wishes to recognize Ronald Slater for his contributions not only to the City of North Olmsted, but more to the residents of the City of North Olmsted, wish to express their gratitude to Ronald Slater for a tremendous contribution to the people of the City of North Olmsted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio : Section I. That the minutes of this Council meeting, December 17,1968, show the gratitude, appreciation and recognition of the member of this Council to the unselfish contributions of time and advice given by Ronald Slater to the citizens • and future citizens of North Olmsted. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to send to Ronald Slater a copy of this Resolution. Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety, health and welfare of the City. WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. PASSE ATTE T: -• / ?
