CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 68- <br />BY ' <br />b? ?S <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION <br />AND COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ; ESTABLISHING SALARIES <br />OF THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHILE <br />ON DUTY FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ; EST.ABLISH- <br />ING THE PER DIEM ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE <br />POLICE EMPLOYEES WHILE ATTENDING POLICE SCHOOL <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 68-60, AIVD DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of Council has advised Council the <br />need for additional Policemen to adequately serve the City of North Olmsted ; <br />and <br />WHEREAS,the Finance Committee of Council has advised Council that <br />it is necessary to increase the salaries and compensations of the members of <br />the Police Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of theCity of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio : <br />Section 1: That the Organizational Chart for the Police Department of <br />the City of North Olmsted ( Chapter 139.02, " Composition and Classifications " <br />of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances ) shall read as follows: <br />A: The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the personnel <br />set forth in the Organizatinal Chart shall consist of the Chief of Police who shall <br />be in charge of the entire Police Department. <br />B: The Chief of Police shall also be im charge of one ( 1) Secretary. <br />C: The Chief of Police shallalso be in charge of the General Duty <br />iJniform Roster, which shall consist of three ( 3) Li-eutenants ; four ( 4) Sergeants ; <br />twenty-four ( 24 ) Patrolmen ; twenty-five ( 25 ) Auxiliary Police ; fourteen ( 14 ) <br />School Guards : and one ( 1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D: The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective Bureau <br />consisting of three ( 3) of the Police personnel mentioned in Section 1, C, above. <br />E: The Police Department as constitued herein shall be classified by <br />the Director of the Public Safety and Public Service as required by law . <br />Section 2: That effective July 1, 1968, retroactively;the base salaries of <br />the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and determined to be as <br />follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Lieutenant of Police <br />Sergeants <br />Patrolmen for First Year <br />Patrolmen for Second Year <br />Patrolmen after Second Year <br />School Guards <br />Auxiliary Police <br />$11, 200. 00 Annually <br />$ 9,595.00 Annually <br />$ 9,060.00 Annually <br />$ 7,100. 00 Annually <br />$ 7,600.00 Annually <br />$ 8,550.00 Annually <br />$ 1.75 per hour <br />$ 2.00 per hour
