CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 68-9 <br />B Y ?zoo/t <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATION AND <br />COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED; ESTABLISHING SALARIES OF THE <br />MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHILE ON DUTY <br />FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED; ESTABLISHING THE <br />PER DIEM ALLOWANCE TO BE PAID TO THE POLICE EM- <br />PLOYEES WHILE ATTENDING POLICE SCHOOL AND RE- <br />PEALING ORDINANCE N0. 67-291, ORDINANCE N0. 67- <br />290, ORDINANCE N0. 67-287, ORDINANCE N0. 67-263, <br />ORDINANCE N0. 66-319, ORDINANCE N0. 66-336, OR- <br />DINANCE N0. 65-271, ORDINANCE N0. 65-235, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of Council has requested that <br />the Organizational Chart of the Police Department be established into <br />one Ordinance together with the compensation to be paid, in order to <br />clarify the composition of the Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has requested that <br />the salaries and compensation to be paid to the Police Department be <br />combined with the Organizational Chart for the purpose of clarification <br />and in order to facilitate and expedite the duty of the Finance Direct- <br />or, the Finance Committee of Council, the Safety Director and the Safety <br />Committee of Council. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section l: The the Organizational Chart for the Police De- <br />partment of the City of North Olmsted (Chapter 139, Section 139,02, <br />"Composition and Classification" of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances) <br />shail read as follows: <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Depart- <br />ment and the personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart <br />shall consist of the Chief of Police who shall be in charge <br />of the entire Police Department. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of <br />one (1) Secretary. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of <br />the General Duty Uniform Roster, which shall consist of three <br />(3) Lieutenants; three (3) Sergeants; twenty-two (22) Patrolmen; <br />twenty-five (25) Auxiliary Police; Fourteen (14) School Guards; <br />and one (1) Police Matron, part-time. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of <br />a Detective Bureau consisting of two (2) of the Police person- <br />nel mentioned in Section 1, C., above. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall <br />be classified by the Director of the Public Safety and Public <br />Service as required by law.
