RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -110 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT WITH MAYFIELD <br />ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, INC. TO <br />PROVIDE TEMPORARY ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES TO <br />THE CITY'S ENGINEERING DIVISION FOR ANADDITIONAL THREE <br />MONTH PERIOD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City is presently without the services of a City Engineer; and <br />WHEREAS, vital City construction projects begun in the Spring are continuing and <br />there is a immediate and pressing need for continued engineering consulting services to assist <br />the City's Engineering Division in their review and inspection for said projects; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, acting pursuant to Section 111.08 of the Administrative <br />Code and at the request of the Mayor and Director of Public Service, adopted Ordinance No. <br />2006-60 on February 21, 2006, dispensing with a fortnal RFP process and authorizing the <br />Mayor to enter into an agreement with Mayfield Engineering and Construction Management, <br />Inc., for the purpose of providing temporary engineering consulting services to the City's <br />Engineering Division for a three-month period; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayar and Directar of Public Service have requested that the <br />agreement with Mayfield Engineering and Construction Management, Inc., be extended for an <br />additional three-month period to allow more time in the selection and transition process for <br />consulting City engineering services; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council believes, based upon the representation of the Director of <br />Public Service, that an emergency condition requiring immediate action exists warranting <br />temporarily dispensing with the RFP process and extending the agreement between the City <br />and Mayfield Engineering and Construction Management, Inc. in arder to continue to obtain <br />the professional services needed for ongoing City construction projects; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into an agreement with Mayfield Engineering and Construction Management, Inc., for the <br />purpose of providing temporary engineering consulting services to the City's Engineering <br />Division for an additional three-month period; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO:
