.~~ ~.~ <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 53 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 137.01 <br />COMPOSITION OF CHAPTER 13 7 OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />LAW, " IN ORDER TO ADD TWO POSITIONS TO THE <br />ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF THE LAW DEPARTMENT <br />AND TO MAKE OTHER CHANGES IN THE <br />ORGANIZATION OF THE LAW DEPARTMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Law, following a review of Law Department operations <br />during the period 2002 through 2005, has requested that Council create two new positions ir: *he <br />City Law Department, and make certain other changes in the organization of the Law <br />Department, in order to address an increased workload in the Law Department and to continue <br />the efforts of the Director of Law first initiated in 2002 to institutionalize the functions and <br />functioning of the Law Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for efficient and continuous service <br />within the Law Department, as requested by the Director of Law, by adding a new part-time <br />Assistant Director of Law position and a third Law Clerk position to the organizational chart of <br />the Law Department, and to make the Legal Secretary position a Secretary for the Department <br />and its attorney staff rather than to the Director of Law alone; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 137.01 of the Administrative Code, which currently reads as <br />follows: <br />137.01 COMPOSITION <br />(a) The Law Department of the City, as provided for in Article V, Section 2 of the City <br />Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the Department shall consist <br />of two assistant directors of law, a legal secretary and two law clerks, all of who shall be <br />appointed by the Director of Law. Each of the assistant directors of law shall be an attorney in <br />good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court and licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. <br />The law clerks shall be law students at an accredited law school, or graduates from an accredited <br />law school. <br />(b) One assistant director of law shall be known as the Assistant Director of Law.
