CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 77- ~~ By : G~~ -' _-- AN ORDI~ CE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE BUS DRIVERS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE AVID REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 76-142 ENACTED OCTOBER 5, 1976, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Council and Administration wish to up-date the compensation schedule of the bus drivers so as to bring them into conformity with the rates presently being paid by the Regional Transit Authority, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the compensation to be paid to the bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be as follows: A. Effective February 1, 1977, and thereafter, 1. Full time drivers with less than one year service - $6.39 per hour. 2. Full time drivers with more than one year service, which service time was accumulated prior to August 1, 1976 - $7.05 per hour. 3. Part time drivers shall be paid in a range of $5.00 to $6.00 per hour. B. Any full time driver hired after August 1, 1976 shall be paid on the following basis: 1. First year service, 20~ less top operator rate - $5.64 per hour. 2. Second year service, 150 less top operator rate - $5.995 per hour. 3. Third year service, 100 less top operator rate - $6.345 per hour. 4. Fourth year service and thereafter, top operator rate - $7.05 per hour. SECTION 2: a. The normal work week for regular full time hourly em- ployees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be 40 hours. Said work week shall commence at 12:01 am Sunday through 12:00 midnight Saturday. It is recognized that the bus line shall be maintained on a schedule compatible with efficient and practical transit service 7 days a week. There- fore, it is further recognized that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line retains the right to manage and direct the work force as well as the right to determine the manner and method of assigning work. It is further recognized that some employees may be assigned to work schedules to accommodate 7 day per week service which may of necessity involve overtime work. :Hourly employees will be paid at time and one-half of the straight time rate for all hours in excess of 8 hours ner day, and, also time and one-half of their straight time rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in any one work week.
