CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 76- ~Q av:~,.~~ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO THE BUS DRIVERS OF THE NORTH OLMSTED MUNICIPAL BUS LINE AND REPEALING OP~I)INANCE NO. 75-237 ENACTED NOVEMBER 18, 1975, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Transportation Committee. and the Finance Com- mittee have recommended an adjustment in the pay rate of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, and WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of making an adjustment in the compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That effective February 1, 1976, compensation for bus drivers of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be as follows: A. During their first year of service bus drivers shall be paid at the rate of $5.72 per hour. After one year of service, all bus drivers shall be paid at the rate of $5.98 per hour. The normal work week for regular full time hourly employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be forty (40) hours. It is recognized that the Bus Line will be manned on schedules compatible with efficient and practical transit service seven day~.s a week. It is recognized that some employees may be assigned to work schedules to accommodate seven (7) day per week service. Hourly employees will be paid at time and one-half (1~) of their straight time rates of pay for hours in excess of forty hours worked in any one work week. The normal work week shall start at 2:01 A.M. Monday and end at 2:00 A.M. the succeeding Monday. The North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be the sole judge of the necessity for overtime. The time worked in Charter Service will be paid at a straight time rate and will not be used in computing overtime pay. B. All full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line having completed five (5) years of full-time continuous service as employees of said bus line or having been transferred from some other department by administrative appointment, shall be paid an additional 3~ of their base annual salary until they have completed their tenth (10) year of continuous full time service. After completing their tenth (10) year and prior to completion of their fifteenth (15) year of continuous full time service they shall be paid 4~ of their base annual salary. After completion of their fifteenth (15) year of continuous service and prior to completion of their twentieth (20) year of continuous service, they shall be paid 5% of their base annual salary. After their twentieth (20) year of continuous full time service and thereafter, they shall be paid 6~ of their base annual salary. These payments shall be longevity increments and shall be paid and computed by the Finance Department of the City of North Olmsted.
