•~ <br />~ ' i ` i <br /> <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 74 -,~, <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BY CREATING A NEW CHAPTER 163 ENTITLED <br />"DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES", AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of North Olmsted adopted a Charter <br />Amendment at the General Election of 1970 which called for the <br />establishment of a Youth Advisory Commission for the purpose of <br />reviewing juvenile and sociological problems in the City of North <br />Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, said Commission was established and rendered a report <br />respecting juvenile problems and other related sociological problems <br />of the community as a whole, and therein recommended the establishment <br />of a Department of Human Resources, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council and the Administration desire to implement <br />the recommendations of said Commission with the realization that all <br />citizens encounter difficulties at various times which require the <br />joint effort of the City of North Olmsted along with the voluntary <br />organizations and interested individuals to help solve the many <br />problems encountered, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council and the Administration desire to establish <br />the Department of Human Resources to coordinate the work of all <br />interested persons in pooling human resources for the common good of <br />all citizens of the City of North Olmsted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted be and the same are hereby amended by creating a new Chapter <br />163 entitled "Department of Human Resources" which shall read as <br />follows: <br />CHAPTER 163 <br />DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES <br />163.01 Establishment <br />That there is hereby established a Department of Human Resources for <br />the City which shall be known as the "Department of Human Resources <br />of the City of North Olmsted". <br />163.02 Director and-Employees <br />a, The Department of Human Resources shall be headed by a Director <br />who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of <br />the Council and shall be answerable to the Mayor. <br />b, The Council shall from time to time, as the need arises, provide <br />the Director with clerical assistance in the operation of the Department, <br />at which time the Council shall also provide for the compensation of <br />any clerical positions created hereunder. <br /> <br />
